Southwest Missouri Office on Aging is your leading source for programs, services, and information specifically designed to help older adults and their caregivers. SWMOA has been serving thousands of seniors in southwest Missouri since 1973 through the many programs, senior centers, and numerous services we offer.
Are you a retired professional? Are you looking for something meaningful but yet something that challenges you?
Each year we train people just like you to become Volunteer Tax Counselors. This program helps Seniors and/or Low-Income Families e-file their federal income taxes, and file for Missouri property tax/rent rebates. Our volunteers enjoy their rewarding and respected positions; they enjoy the welcome they receive in the community; and the friendships that come from working with a well-trained team of caring co-volunteers.
We provide ‘New to Taxes’ training in Springfield for new volunteers in December as well as additional training sessions in January.
If you’re interested in becoming part of the volunteer corps, contact Becky at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 417-868-9518.
