Senior Center Activities
Senior Centers are comfortable gathering places for food, friendship, and activity. They offer a variety of daily recreational and educational programs in an upbeat and comfortable setting. Each center is an Area Agency on Aging satellite of services, providing the trusted help local communities most need.

Dining Room Meals
Out 38 senior centers serve wholesome, friendly dining room meals for those who enjoy socializing with others. Many of our centers now host salad bars and ice cream machines. Nearly 400,000 meals were served in our dining rooms last year.

Legal Assistance
We contract with legal Services of Southern Missouri to assure that low income seniors have access to legal assitance for non-criminal concerns.

Volunteer Excellence
We encourage active seniors to continue working within their communities. All of our services are better because of the time and skills invested by volunteers at each of our centers.

Health and Fitness
Health education programs and screenings throughout the year emphasize wellness and nutrition and are offered at most of our senior centers.

Elder Abuse Prevention
We educate the public about ways to recognize, improve, and prevent abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

Long-Term Care Ombudsman
These well-trained volunteers regularly visit nursing home residents to address any concerns or needs.

Holiday Programs
Year-end holidays can be lonely for many seniors. Our community partners help us bring cheer to these seniors through hand-delivered holiday dinners and hand-picked gifts. You can help by adopting a senior this Christmas - find out how!

Silver-Haired Legislature (SHL)
Missouri's SHL is comprised of 150 volunteers serving two-year terms:
12 representatives and three senators from each of the 10 AAAs, each who are advocates for senior rights.
