The West Plains Senior Citizen’s Center started out in the old Wallace & Owens grocery store building and has through a series of renovations become the spacious (9,750 sq. ft.) facility our community enjoys today.

The facility houses an immaculate kitchen, spacious dining room, media room, multipurpose room and TV lounge. Our exercise room is equipped with two treadmills, a recumbent bike, elliptical machine and a rower. We also have a separate building that houses our Pool Hall (8am-3:30 pm Mon.-Fri.) and Ceramics Studio (Tues. & Wed.
1-3pm).

The “home-delivered meals ” program prepares and delivers nutritious hot meals to over a hundred homebound seniors and another forty receive home delivered frozen meals. Aside from the daily lunch, prepared by our inspired cooks, complete with soup & salad bar and of course, dessert, we offer many activities designed to promote a sense of community.

Treva Warrick is available every 2nd and 4th Wednesday to assist with Medicare and tax questions and we host a variety of free educational classes from American Sign Language to Suicide Prevention all open to the community at large.

Our staff and volunteers strive to be “the one stop shop” for seniors and their caregivers and are constantly updating information and resources to better serve them. Our facility is available for rentals and is the favored spot in West Plains to hold Family & Class reunions, receptions, Birthday and Anniversary parties and most recently our second Wedding!

We feel fortunate to have this wonderful facility and privileged to be able to offer the variety and quality of services to our community.

West Plains Senior Center offers a variety of daily activities including:

• Chair Exercise Classes on Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00 am-11:00 am
• Ceramics Classes from 1:00 - 3:00 pm every Tuesday and Wednesday
• Knitting Zone on Friday from 10:00 am -12:00 pm.
• Blood Pressure checks at 9:45 am on Tuesday
• Wii exercise on Tuesday and Tthursday at 11:00 am.
• BINGO at 12:30 pm the first Monday of every month.
• Card nights (they play PITCH) every Monday. and Thursday at 5:00 pm.
• Dance every Friday night at 7:00 pm
